Amy + Dennis: December 6, 2008
I’ve held off posting about this wedding only because I’ve had lots of other great things happening in the past few months. However, now that my 2009 wedding season is ramping up, I figured it was about time I sat down and provided a recap of my last 2008 wedding: Amy & Dennis’ December 6th reception at the Hoosic Club in Milton, MA.
Amy & Dennis met through work, and found my services online in June 2008. From the first time I met with Amy, I knew that her wedding reception would be so much fun. She had already done her homework on a number of reception details, but my live piano music offering on my brochure caught her attention during our initial meeting. Could I play the Hoosic Club’s piano during cocktail hour? Absolutely! As guests walked into the venue, they heard my contemporary pop stylings, which filled the foyer and adjacent rooms nicely.
After introductions, the bride and groom had their first dance and were toasted by the Best Man, Maid of Honor, and a few of their family members. Because I was set up on a stage, I intentionally placed a wireless microphone on a stand near the head table; it allowed all of the toasts to be made near the bride and groom’s seats, and made them loud and clear for guests seated further away. After an incredible dinner, I opened the dance floor and welcomed their 150 guests to join in the fun. The party ended promptly at 10:59 (because of the venue’s location and noise ordinances, I was given the “cut” motion sooner than expected). However, everyone had a great time, and I’m sure they’re still talking about how wonderful it was.
Congratulations, Amy & Dennis!
